So many new heroines debuted in South Indian films in the years 2009-2010, there were good ones, average ones and bad ones....as far as the new comers are concerned it is very difficult to stamp your authority in the industry in the very first year. We have seen some heroines making a rocking entry into the field with an all-time block buster movie and gradually disapperaing from the scene, we have also seen heroines makinf a low profile start to their career and subsequently climbing the steps of stardom due to their sheer determination and potential. This is the class where the beautiful Meghana Raj belongs.
Meghana by no means is a stranger in film industry, born to yesteryear actors Sundar Raj and Pramila Joshi, there is no wonder acting is in her blood. Although her debut film as a heroine was 'Krishnaleelai' by K.Balachander, her first release was 'Bendu Apparao' in Telugu. It went on to become a major hit in Telugu and she got oppurtunities in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. For me this by no means is a small achievement. By getting lead roles in all 4 South Indian languages in her first year in the Industry, Meghana cleary demonstrated her acting potential and made people realize that she is not a mere glamour doll.
All her debut movies in the South Indian movies were very successful and she played a vital part in each to make it a box office success. The Malayalam movie 'Yakshiyum Njaanum' directed by Vinayan had a whole crew of newcomers and if reports have to be believed Meghana almost single-handedly made the film a success despite an average story and mediocre performances from the support cast.
Meghana has got a bunch of movies lined up in multiple languages that will get released in 2011 and 2012.
